Frame Wreath: Spring Has Sprung!

April 10, 2011 by Bee Filed Under: craft, DIY, home decorating, repurpose, Tutorials

Well it is a bloggy world and I am now a blogger! This will be a fun new adventure for me and you will see the good/bad/ and ugly DIY projects I decide to do- usually on a moments notice!
A few things you should know about me…. I use exclamation points A LOT!! get over it!!…. I also brag unabashedly about pinching a penny here and there… this doesn’t make me cheap… it makes me happy!!…. I also usually think that I am pretty HI-larious- so watch out for dry humor that may or may not translate on a blog… guess we will see…
So here goes!
I have been seeing the green moss lovelies all over blog land and wanted to get my little crafty hands on some… so off to The Lob I went- moss- check- cute ribbon 50% off- check! (see- there I go) about ten things I didn’t really need- check!

I was so excited that I didn’t take a before shot of all of this so bare with me- you will find that I will usually share too many pics because I am a visual person.

But for this you will need- an old picture frame- any shape (I would recommend using one with a thick frame for more impact) — some super glue or glue gun– and some pretty ribbon.

First I popped the old glass out of the frame and I actually liked the color of the frame but you could spray paint it a fun pop of pink or aqua that would peak through the moss- then I heated up my hot glue gun and just got to work hot gluing it on.  You have to do small pieces at a time because the glue dries quickly but be careful- the glue is as they say… hot! and goes right through that darn moss!
Once that was done I added a few little cute friends to it that snuck into my cart at Hobby Lobby and then wrapped my cute ribbon around my wreath holder on the front door- a dab of hot glue to hold it is place at the top and Voila!!!

A pop of spring to welcome you to my blog- excited to keep sharing both my triumphs and sadness through the forty projects I have going one project at a time!

oh and just for fun with some of the left over ribbon- I brought the spring into my entry way table…

Bee:)
